AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT/PERSONAL INJURIES


  • Motorcycle Accident: A 57-year-old man was riding his motorcycle to work at 3:00 a.m. He became permanently disabled after the motorcycle he was riding struck the broadside of a black cow. The black cow was standing in the middle of the road, two miles from the farm. The man’s injuries included a shattered right hip, multiple fractures to both legs, a torn rotator cuff, fractured ribs, a concussion and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

WRONGFUL DEATH

The semi dump truck pushed the SUV over 200 feet into an adjacent field where both vehicles became engulfed in flames. The semi dump truck had an air brake system that was defective and had previously been recalled.

  • Medical Negligence: A 50-year-old, married father of three was injured when a surgical nurse used an incorrect amount of gas solution during a retinal repair surgery. This error caused excessive pressure in the man’s right eye. In order to relieve the pressure, the man’s eye had to be tapped with a needle every 12 hours for one week totaling 14 taps without anesthesia. A tap involved placing a long needle directly into the eyeball to relieve the pressure caused by the improperly mixed gas. As a result of the surgical nurse’s error the man’s pupil was permanently dilated.

  • Medical Negligence: An 81-year-old woman became ill after her pharmacy mistakenly provided her the wrong medication in her prescription pill bottle.
